Welcome to the Dog Pound!!!

A Message from the TD Club President

Dear Touchdown Club Members:

Are you ready for some football!?!?!?!?!!  It is time for the real sporting event to begin.    The Executive Board has been working diligently, analyzing and reanalyzing things to make this a first class season.

It is the responsibility of the Touchdown Booster Club to support the football program and our head coach.  It is our responsibility to provide the monetary means needed to carry out a successful football program.

The Executive Board has adopted one major goal this year.  That goal is to raise $70,000 with 100% participation.  Why $70,000?  I am glad you asked:
  • Offer a more attractive stipend to the coaching support staff to obtain quality coaches.
  • Update the equipment in the weight room.  Help to motivate the athletes into getting staying in the weight room and getting stronger.
  • Ensure that every member of the team has safe and quality equipment to play and practice in.
  • Provide adequate food and nourishment to all of our teams before or after games.
  • Assist our coaches with game preparation in the form of the quality filming of games. These films can also be used to promote our players during and after the season.Position ourselves to adequately recognize our athletes with an outstanding Awards Assembly and memorable Senior Night.

The challenge word for the year is TEAMWORK.  We have taught our children, our athletes, that being a part of a team requires working together.  Our athletes have shown they are willing to work together as a team.  When Coach Collins calls a practice, they are there. When directions are given, they follow the directions.  As parents, it is imperative that we show our athletes we practice what we preach.  We are team players.

This year we are providing three Membership Levels.  The package levels are:

Blue Level -$250

Gold Level - $350

Bulldog Level - $500.

By clicking HERE, you will find what is included in each package.  Each athlete and parent should work to reach the "Gold Level" at a minimum, as suggested "Game Day" polo shirts will be a part of the team's attire. You will notice the polo shirts are only offered at the Gold and Bulldog Membership Levels.

Below is the proposed payment schedule:

At least $250 payable by May 15, 2009
The remaining $100 by June 15, 2009

If the $500 package is chosen the remaining $150 should be paid by July 31, 2009

We are currently are offering four fundraisers that can be used to fund these Membership Levels:
  • "Lift-a-Thon" - Already underway
  • Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough Sales - To begin on or about March 30th through Spring Break, culminating on April 13th.
  • Coke Sales - To begin on or about April 27th through on or about May 8th.
  • "North DeKalb Youth Football Camp" referrals - June 1st through June 4th
  • Corporate/Business Sponsors

We realize the timing of the fundraisers is close, but we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to fulfill their financial obligations. We will of course, sponsors other fundraisers to assist in reaching our budget.

Our first Touchdown Club general meeting was held on Monday, March 23rd.  The meeting was well attended and the energy exhibited was encouraging.  We encourage all of you to attend our next meeting scheduled for April 13th. We are also planning or first ever  "Kickoff Meet and Greet Breakfast" on April 25th.  This breakfast will provide parents the opportunity to meet the coaching staff and meet your fellow teammates.  This will allow us the opportunity to get to know one another.  After all for some of us, we will be a part of this team for the next two-four years.

We have several committees and fundraisers in which we need individuals to participate.  As a member of the team, all of you should find a committee with which you wish to work.  Remember we are looking for 100% participation.

Your Executive Board officers for this year are:  Yours truly, President; Co Vice-Presidents - Brett Jackson and Adrienne Clark; Secretary - Tangela Jackson; Treasurer - Lisa Reagan and Parliamentarian.- Frank Epps.

We look forward to working with each of you and to celebrating a very successful season.
